A Saga
As an avid yoga enthusiast and strawberry milkshake shade of girl, I am always on the lookout for workout attire in the pretty pink color that they sell at Lululemon. Working at a yoga co-op, I get to see a lot of different brands that retail in our studio, and still the strawberry pink always reigns supreme.
The problem? While most of Lululemon’s products are worth the price and warranty to me, I am critical of every sports bra they produce. While their sizing not only runs small, the styles typically lack the comfort and security you need for downward facing dog. It has kind of painted me into a corner with a brand whose products I usually love. (Very loyal lululemon yoga mat owner, here.)
Enter a serendipitous solution. I can’t even pretend it was my internet scouring or hard work that paid this off. I was just tagging along with my mom while she browsed Kohl’s. A sports bra with a supportive elastic band underneath, ribbed texture and my favorite strawberry shade hung on a rack on their athleisure wear across the store. I was sold. Although the straps were thin, they were reinforced and the most monumental part of it all? $15.
I feel like I just won the lottery I have been losing at for years now. The ironic caveat, that does feel like some weird poetic justice.. The product runs large according to customer reviews. I still bought and comfortably fit a large but remember this if you have to try for yourself.
I will keep in pursuit of more Lululemon dupes, but for right now this feels like a really big win for me personally (can you tell by the 5 paragraph post?) Kohl’s has a few other products in the same color as the bra which I’ll link below, and I’ll also link to a few Amazon products I love in a similar color of pink. It’s also worth noting that the bra comes in a “Tara Blue” that looks very similar to the “Galactic Cobalt” collection at Lululemon, and a classic black. I wish every woman luck in pursuit of affordable alternatives to your favorite products and I hope that this was worthwhile to someone.
